Keychron C1 87-Key Wired Mechanical Keyboard - Gateron Blue Switch for Mac/Windows Gaming & Typing

After a large coffee mishap finished off my k8 keychron, I decided to replace it with the C-1, and actually prefer the wired version over the wireless version, I did not realize how much I missed the tenkeyless over the temporary full sized monster keyboard, until I went without it for a couple days, the k8 worked good and had all the bells and whistles, but I used it with a work station anyways, the C-1 still is backlit with many different light options that are only white that can be dimmed with dimmer button.I bought this keyboard for my 12 year old and he loves it. It makes a sound that he likes and the light effects are, I would say, mesmerizing. To tell you the truth they are so fun they would distract me from work! :)My son also likes that you can completely remove the key buttons to clean the keyboard if you need to.Love the Keychron C1. It's got weight, quiet keys, and can be modified to your future preferences. There is a little key chatter but adding O-rings cut most of it out.Love the scheme and design of this keyboard. The mechanical switches feel great after multiple months of use, and the volume control is the only feature i find that is lacking.Quality Gateron switches, I almost buy a cheap chinese mechanical keyboard but this one changes everythingLove the sound it makes and great for gaming!The box clearly says "Hot-Swappable Option: You can alter every switch in 5 seconds without the need to solder."This is blatantly not the case with my Keychron C1, because every pin is soldered on.I learned the hard way when I ended up ruining my left Ctrl key and breaking the connectors trying to pull it out. The box said it was hot swappable. Every online tutorial made it seem easy and featured a version with a different PCB that had black caps where the soldering on mine is.This was my first attempt to change switches. I tried a key switch puller, but it did not budge. So I started prying the switch with a flathead screwdriver like many tutorials recommended. It also did not budge. I then went back and forth. Eventually it lifted slightly, but would not move further. I thought this was ridiculous and out of my skill level so I decided to cancel the attempt. However I couldn't move the switch back into place even after over an hour of attempting to do so. So I decided that the switch had to come off. It never did. I then searched for further tutorials and found out there were rumors of a Keychron C1 version that weren't hot swappable and soldered on despite the labeling on the box.I disassembled the housing, and discovered I was one of the unlucky ones to have this version and that the connectors had snapped.
