This is the perfect case for iPad making it into a laptop for me. I just wish that it has a mouse pad on the keyboard also. All the ports works great. Wish it has a stand on the back of the top case so it can stand on its own or somehow make the cover swivel to the other side so it can stand on its own. Easy to take on and off. A little heavy but doable.Bought mid December 2021.Arrived around new year. Considering it was shipped from the US to the EU (Portugal), it was a fast and painless delivery - no need for interaction with customs.Pros:- Definitively worth the money for the sturdiness and pack of features: smart connector, USB ports and HDMI, plus a back lit keyboard.- Easily snaps in (magnetic) and connects to the detachable keyboard via smart connector- The case envolves the tablet and the brim around it gives it extra protection.- function keys for IOS- good feel when typing- pen holderCons:- The promotional pics display a shinier and slicker grey model. Received an all black, rigid plastic case and keyboard, which has a bit of a cheap feel/look.- The USB cable on the exterior doesn't look great.- The usb and HDMI ports are very tight, causing a sandpaper feel when plugging in the cables.- No trackpad. The space for the trackpad was used up by the pen holder in the interior. Personally, I'd prefer ditching the holder, as you can also place it on the side/top.- The set becomes a bit bulky when carrying around. It is understandable that the keyboard needs to be heavy enough to keep the tablet from tilting back and thick enough so that the ports can be fitted.Observations:Battery life obviously becomes affected when keyboard is in use. It would be handy to have the switch located in the front of the tablet or a small indicator to avoid forgetting when it is on. On the other side, it does make sense to have one on the "back", so you can see it after folding down - except I always forget it...- the tablet's USB-C port is very well protected to make sure the case's cable/connector does not suffer damage. The built-in connector has a narrow edge in order to fit in the opening, which would not be a problem if it wasn't for the difficulty in removing the case if you need to charge it or use a cable direcly on the main port. I.e: There is another usb-c port on the actual case (not the keyboard), but I have tested it with a drone, for instance, and it will only work when connecting to the main port. The solution to avoid constantly removing the case was to trim the (plastic) edge of the usb cables.A minor detail, I know. While I felt a bit frustrated at first, I also understand the design is meant to guarantee the best fit. Conclusion:I gave this item 4 stars mostly because of the "feel" and look of some minor details. At the end of the day, it works perfectly for my needs and I can only recommend it for the value for money.First be aware the 3 star review by B.R. Howard must be for a different version than this one since he speaks of needing a Bluetooth connection and this case does not use Bluetooth to connect. It is a direct connection. What’s more it connects using the USB C port he so insists doesn’t exist on an iPad. So yes, it requires you to use the same USB C cord that came with your iPad Pro to charge, not a micro USB. For that matter, no iPad has ever used a micro USB port at all ever. With that it would appear to me the review by that individual is probably misinformation. To address other reviewers comments about decreasing battery life: I find most of the time I don't need the keyboard turned on but still provides one nice stand to hold your tablet up for movie watching or whatever. Then you can turn it on when you need, which you will need to for charging.Simply put, this is a great, stand out, stand alone product. There's really nothing else available to do what this does for an iPad Pro. Should be offered by Apple but I'm guessing it would cause too much competition to the MacBook line. I list a few cons since there is room for improvement but it's still a great product that doesn't really have any real competition right now.Pros:-Does a great job of turning an iPad Pro into laptop while still retaining use as a tablet if desired.-Illuminated Keyboard is perfect for use in dim to no light.-Case adds a ‘grab area’ when detached from keyboard that is perfect to hold tablet and not interfere with touchscreen-Storage slot for iPencil is nice but... (see cons)-HDMI and USB ports are great but... (see cons)-Charging through the case is nice but... (see cons)-Silcone membrane keyboard cover is nice but... (see cons)Cons:-Storage slot for pencil doesn’t charge it which I now like since it’s better for the battery to not always be charging. BUT, it is a little too difficult to pull the pen out of the slot. Larger thumb grab area would be good.-HDMI and USB ports are inactive when the IPad is inactive. Would be good if one port had always available power to allow iPad charging even when the keyboard and tablet are off. Not only does the keyboard have to be turned on but the tablet has to also be turned on to allow charging.-Charging through the case requires the on/off switch be on to charge the iPad. This is a mistake.-Silicone keyboard cover falls off too easily otherwise it is great to keep the keyboard clean from those of us with oily skin.-on/off switch would be better located somewhere by the keyboard and the switch seems a bit lower quality.-a bit too hard to open (separating the monitor from keyboard when closed). This is because of the required tension to keep the monitor upright when in use. But perhaps if there was a pull tab somewhere would solve this.Overall, I think this is the nicest laptop transforming case available. Hopefully versions for future iPads will have the few remaining bugs worked out. With this case, my 11” iPad fits well in a bag made for the 12.9” iPad with some room to spare
