Keychron K10 RGB Hot-Swappable Mechanical Keyboard - Wireless Bluetooth/USB Wired for Mac/Windows Gaming & Office

Keyboard itself is good, realistically I would give this a 3.5/5. I like having the ability to hotswap switches and/or use RGB lighting. The keys caps are well manufactured (super sharp lettering, even if they are ABS). The stabilizers come pre-lubed and sound fine to my untrained ear (no annoying rattling around, although I'm sure a hardcore enthusiast will do their own lubing anyway).The RGB lights do seem to have an odd balance when using white lights -- if you're using a static white, they're fine. But the fading logic for any of the effects (raindrops, visor scrolling, whatever) seem to have a predominantly red hue to them. Not sure if this is a firmware problem (e.g., the signals sent from the board to the LEDs are not calculated properly) or if this is an issue with the LEDs themselves or some other oddball circuit issue. To me, it's not really a big deal since I don't use any effects, but it's worth calling out.The bluetooth stuff as mentioned in plenty of other reviews gets pretty annoying. I'm coming from using a Logitech G915 which I also used between 2 machines with a bluetooth connection.With this keyboard, you simply cannot wake up a machine that is asleep -- I have no idea why or how this happens, but for my own sanity I tested this with the G915 and I can wake my sleeping machine up while on bluetooth. It's not the end of the world (you can wake up the machine with the mouse or whatever) but this just reinforces the issues with bluetooth this board has. Also, PLEASE NOTE I am not talking about the keyboard going to sleep (as others complain about) -- I can tolerate that, and that setting can be turned off if you really don't like it. The keyboard itself takes maybe a second or two to wake up, which is in line with the G915 that I've been using. I can deal with this, but just know this might be something that bothers you.What I find more annoying is the bluetooth connection timeouts. The board seems to only try to connect to a machine for about a second before it stops trying (note this is not PAIRING; this is after both machines are paired and confirmed working just fine). This results in having to sometimes try 4 or 5 times to connect to a machine (which I am sitting literally right in front of) before it successfully swaps connections. Sometimes, I don't have this issue; other days, I will have this issue multiple times during a single workday. It's totally hit or miss, and probably makes it more frustrating (as opposed to being a faulty unit that never connects or something).One last bit I have to call out, this is on disassembly. There is a screw NOT INDICATED in their own disassembly instructions on their official website (can't post it here but just google "keychron k10 disassembly"). It is in the top-right corner UNDERNEATH the plastic "cover" on top of the board where the toggle lights are. You will clearly know there's a screw here when you remove 20 screws and still can't pull the board off the chassis (their instructions verbatim: "Remove the screws on the PCB (Total 20 pcs) as shown in following image"). THERE ARE 21 SCREWS. You need to somehow "pop" off the top plastic cover (which clips to the "middle" layer) WITHOUT getting UNDER the middle layer (since it is screwed in by an inaccessible screw -- or you simply bend the board out to pop it off which is really not great). I read Keychron's instructions and diagrams multiple times and NO WHERE is this screw called out (instructions verbatim AFTER the wrong screw count: "Note: Please be careful of the toggles on the side when you disassemble the keyboard and reassemble it" but they DON'T CALL OUT THAT INVISIBLE SCREW anywhere in the document). This wasted a solid 30 minutes of my time trying to figure out how to pop off this top cover without damaging it to get to the final screw. I was ready to ship this unit back for that reason alone. BE WARNED -- if you want to disassemble the K10 for adding foam to the chassis or changing stabilizers or something, it is a huge pain in the neck.Rant aside, for the price, I would recommend grabbing this keyboard -- most competition for a full sized mechanical keyboard with good switches and RBG lighting will easily push you to $200 price range (and most of those won't have hot swappable switches). However, just make sure you understand the bluetooth connectivity issues and the super annoying disassembly process. For me, I find the bluetooth issues bothersome but I can tolerate them for the other benefits I get (mostly, hot swappable switches). You may not have the same requirements and should weigh your options accordingly.For me this is the perfect mechanical keyboard. I am particular about what I type on so I have tried out multiple in the past few years. I also test out the sample displays any time I go into a physical electronics store. By far this one feels the best. I got the aluminum frame, red switches. The keycaps are a very pleasant color scheme and have a bit of a soft, matte rubber type finish to them which makes the tops feel good. The font is clean and minimalist and the sound that the keys make is satisfying -- soft clicking with a satisfying thud when they hit the bottom of their travel.The wireless pairing works very well -- connects quickly and stays connected. I have had others prone to spontaneous disconnects. USB-C is a big plus. The built in lighting patterns look great although that is not something that I use very often. Multiple different colors schemes and movement patterns as well as an all white backlight option if you just want a normal backlight.I have not had the keyboard for long so I can't speak to the longevity, but it certainly feels like something that is going to last. I was hesitant to get another keyboard since mine was in fine condition, but I am very happy with this one and plan on keeping it. I use this mainly for work, and it feels like I need to charge this every other day- the USB c charging cutout is a tiny bit too small. It won't fit my laptop charger (also USB c). I am thinking of shaving down the plastic/rubber housing on the end of my laptop charger, but I wish it just workedI spent weeks researching keyboards and I eventually went with this one. I'm new to mechanical keyboards, so I can't really compare it to other mechanical keyboards. I went with the red switches. This still sounds a bit louder than a standard membrane keyboard, however, it's not obnoxiously loud like the clicky switches. The USB connection is as expected. The cable feels high quality and sturdy. The bluetooth connectivity works great. I use this wirelessly with 3 different PCs. I only have connectivity issues with one PC, but I suspect it being something with the PC itself, as my other two PCs on bluetooth work great without any issues. I can't really say anything about the battery, as this stays plugged into my gaming PC 24/7 regardless of whether or not I'm using that PC or another one, so I haven't gone extended periods with it being unplugged. The keyboard looks a lot better on my desk than it does in pictures online. I was really surprised in the high quality look and feel of this keyboard. It's heavy and sturdy. The keys feel nice and comfortable, and they're easy to take off and put back on with the included tool. The lighting effects are neat and good looking. I primarily wanted the lights for backlight rather than gimmicky effects, but I do like the effects that slowly fade between different colors. One thing I really wish this keyboard had was the ability to program lights on individual keys. It only has the ability to cycle through effects, and no customizability of the lights, which was kind of a bummer, but it doesn't detract from my impression of the keyboard at all. I love this keyboard. Before purchasing this keyboard, I did try a few other high priced models at best buy just to see how they feel, and this keyboard honestly feels and looks better than the $150-$200+ keyboards. I'm very happy with my keychron k10. Received red switch.It's only been a few weeks since I bought this product and the toggle button on the side is no longer available, it was supposed to be a bluetooth/cable/off switch, but now it's stuck in cable mode and persists. I guarantee no bumps or intentional damage during the use of the product, it just sits on a table and the switch is used less than 10 times
