I have carpal tunnel, wrist tendonitis, and a number of problems that make computer work difficult but still have to continue writing/keyboarding, etc. Hitting the space bar with my thumb constantly was starting to stress out the nerve there, so I re-programmed a key on my keyboard so I could use my pinky instead, but then the nerve on the underside of my arm was getting inflamed/overused. I have been running out of fingers to moderately injure and still be able to continue working, and was super shocked and excited to have discovered this product.I program it to be a simple space bar that I can tap with my foot, and am typing this review right now with the foot pedal. It has made a huge difference but takes a bit of practice. I love it so far and am relieved to have found this solution, as the space bar is the most commonly used function, if you think about it, but I simply do not have enough fingers to dedicate to it beyond the ones that are already injured.A few things:- They send along the software to program the pedal on a tiny CD. You would first need a CD drive to access it, and a special one at that to use the small disc. I just googled the product and found the software online.- It is easy to install and dedicate a function to the foot pedal. Even though there is only one button technically, there are still a number of attributes you can link to functions. But I only need it for one single click which I link to the space bar.- Once you save the key to the foot pedal, you can use the pedal on a different computer, and it will have saved the function you want. I love this, as my job doesn't let me install anything without special permission and reasons, so it was nice not to go through that hassle.- Another thing to note is that you have to restart your computer once you save the key, or unplug and replug, before it works. I didn't know that and kept thinking I wasn't using the software correctly or got a faulty pedal. Try a few different functions before you decide on what works for your workflow/habits.The one thing I don't like is that it is pretty loud, especially if you accidentally hit it too hard--which I do as this is a new muscle memory thing my brain now has to incorporate when I type. My coworkers are very chill and aware of my many wrist issues, but if your office is tensely quiet and your coworkers get easily annoyed, just keep that in mind. I'm going to try to tape foam adhesive to it and see if that helps.I also like that the cord is moderately long and I can use it with my standing desk. The pedal itself is metal and seems sturdy. I've only had this for a day so time will tell how it holds up.Hope this review is helpful to anyone who has similar wrist pain from typing!
