I got this for my new PC build and I couldn't be happier with it. I guess my only complaint is the top, side, and buttons and the right mouse button. You see, I usually swing my arm over at the mouse and often hit the side buttons. I just wish they were a bit more firm. The way I put my hand on the mouse, I often hold the right mouse button from the side and it feels "sticky" because it hangs off the side a bit too much.It works well with the Corsair iCue software and looks great. I especially like that you can control the whole setup from the mouse. The top two buttons switch between themes in the software so you can set profiles and cycle between them if you have RGB LED's in your rig like I do. Again, I wish they were more firm, because I keep hitting them and then my whole PC goes dark because I only have the one profile (for now). I just wish the keyboard didn't come damaged. The 6, Y. H, and B keys were all DOA. I assume they are connected in some way. The LED's lit up real nicely though. One of the keys also looked pressed in a bit. Perhaps that had something to do with it? It's very frustrating because I had problems with the motherboard and GPU as well. I'm probably not going to buy computer parts on Amazon anymore. Newegg is better for this, but I'll still buy other stuff maybe. This just puts a bad taste in my mouth. I was really looking forward to the dynamic duo of this packaged deal.Pros: good key action; large glyphs on the keytops; good haptic feedback; dedicated multimedia and volume controls, so the Function key options used by my old Tesoro were unnecessary.Cons: There is only one USB passthrough port, and it requires plugging in a second input cable, which is not adequately explained in either the Quick Start Guide or the User Guide. I could only find information on the second cable in the online FAQs, and even they did not explain everything. I hooked the main connector up to a USB 3.0 port, thinking, as stated in the FAQs, that that was all I would need. But the USB passthrough was inoperative. So then I plugged in the other USB connector to a different port on the motherboard, and finally the passthrough became active. There were issues involving buzzing sounds in the speakers, but I won't go into detail about those, because it turned out they were caused by an audio cable that had been jarred loose during all the USB hookup activity.I also wish there were more subtle levels of the backlight in standalone (not using Cue software) mode. I don't use this for gaming. I need the backlights because of visual problems and the room environment. I'm not interested in all the fancy controls available through the software, and I don't want another root-level device sucking up resources. So I did not install the software. And the lowest level of backlight, without the software, is too bright. My Tesoro had a much better low level.I will continue to test, and see how well it does with my typical use (which is pretty heavy), but the keyboard is a bit disappointing. I am especially disappointed because I built my own PC using a Corsair case and a Corsair PSU, and have been very happy with all those products. This is the first time I've experienced a problem with their stuff.I can't yet comment on durability, since I just installed it.Fantastic. Solid, brushed metal surface, deliciously clicky switches on the keys, the built-in media controls immediately became something that I miss sorely when I'm using a different keyboard - a nice wide scroll wheel for your volume control is a game changer. It looks great, it feels great, and I feel a genuine sense of satisfaction every time I sit down to use my computer. A real pleasure to use. If you are looking for a solid mechanical keyboard at a good price, this is the one. Each key has an individual light which can be turned off with iCUE software. I use it for my capslock key to light up when capslock is on, and be off when capslock is not on. The keys are tactile and clicky. They are also noisy, but that's to be expected. LED lighting is only in red, I do wish I had bought a keyboard with rgb to match my PC, but the red lighting is still good and not a dealbreaker.besides feeling dumb after thinking they were cherry red keys because I read after a couple beers ready it was cherry mx red instead of red led, cherry mx blue..... None the less this keyboard is the best gaming accessory I have purchased. If I ever need another keyboard it will be this one in the MX red version. My only complaint would be that if you install the K70 software, it seems to make the keyboard not start with the pc. Not a big deal, not software, no problem.
